What You’ll Do
We are looking for a smart, energetic and motivated General Accounting Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day accounting activities including the establishment financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. The person we will hire must be able to raise the bar of his/her team’s professionalism, skills sets and camaraderie. We will expect this person to work closely with other teams including financial reporting, operations, and technical teams. Lastly, this person must be well versed on Philippine tax and other government agency requirements.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
- Monthly, quarterly and end-year process
- Accounts payable
- General ledger
- Capital assets reconciliations
- Bank accounts and other balance sheet reconciliations
- Taxes and other government requirements
- Monitor and analyze accounting data
- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles
- Provide recommendations
- Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions
- Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Meet financial accounting objectives
- Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions
- Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
- Work with external auditors to ensure correct and timely closing and reporting at year-end
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy. CPA or MBA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a portion of it being in a supervisory or managerial role
- Thorough knowledge of Philippine GAAP and tax rulings and updates
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all level of an organization
- Strong leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results
- Knowledge of employee relationship building and performance management techniques
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with other financial systems like Oracle, SAP or the like.
