Job Description
Purpose of the Position:
The role of the Technical Engineer is to provide assistance to the Technical Director. He will give inputs, undertake analysis, prepare documentation and make recommendations. He will primarily focus on the technical aspects of various power development projects of the Company and would support business development initiatives.
Duties:
- Conducts site visits, collects required information and data for project development.
- Assist with developing configurations for projects, project design, and request for proposals.
- Assist with obtaining all necessary data for financial modelling.
- Reviews and analyses the technical capabilities of various vendors or suppliers and presents to the Technical Director.
- Studies the project requirements and prepares the required bill of quantities and requests for quotation.
- Preparation of tenders and offers in line with project technical and administrative requirements.
- Conducts optimizations studies through the use of Homer Software.
- Identifies production from solar PV plants for various sites using the PVSyst Simulation Software.
- Attends technical meetings and prepares minutes of the meetings and documentations.
- Attends client meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering course. Post Graduate Degree is an advantage, but not required.
- Registered Mechanical/Electrical Engineer
- Good knowledge in power systems engineering.
- At least 5 years working experience within the energy industry. Experience with a power development company is preferred.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge on the latest power/energy development trends, legislative and regulatory framework, etc., needed for implementation of efficient energy systems.
- Good knowledge in modeling tools such as: Homer Software, PV Syst Simulation Software
