Job summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for overall construction of projects assigned. He/she must possess the knowledge, experience and confidence to engage and professionally interact with the design, professionals, consultants and client while successfully direction construction related personnel in planning, coordinating and safely executing the work in accordance with the contract documents, schedule and budget.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor project construction schedule and general conditions budget including cost forecasting
- Review project plans and specifications and comment on building design, scheduling, possible cost savings measures and potential construction problems.
- Assist estimator in preparation of project budget
- Assist in assembling the job site office nad equipment requirements
- Communicate with design team/client as well as effectively lead the trades
- Expedite all drawings and approvals
- Raise and discuss relevant issues and prepare minutes of all site meetings
- Prepare and expedite prject deficiency list
- Monitor site safety and ensure that OHS requirements are enforced
- Ensure completion and track independent testing and inspections as required.
- Maintain and enforce construction standards and quality control
- Control and monitor labor, material and eequipment expenses
- Ensure that “as-built” drawings are prepared on an ongoing basis by all trades during the construction period and issue final close-outs to owner accordingly
- Ensure all required government related inspections are performed
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3 year(s) experience construction and project management or any related field;
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
- Must have an understanding of construction terms, scheduling and planning concepts;
- Excellent organizational, presentation and interpersonal skills
- Managerial: 5 years;
