Job Description
Under the leadership of the Marketing Managers and Director, the Content Writer will design and conduct content activities from research, data banking, and writing for different formats for the campaigns of the marketing team.
The content writer is expected to review and understand the agency’s brands and its sister company's brands to contribute to editorial meetings and brainstorming sessions. From there create original copy and content ideas that will be compelling for the readers and potential clients of M2.0 and its affiliated companies, from website copies, blogs, case studies, scripts, and other forms of articles or content.
The content writer will also be required to conduct research for concept development and content production through interviews, coverage, online or offline research, and/or some other appropriate means.
Role in the team
Usually working on different content projects, the task assigned to the content writer includes the following:
1. Participation in the editorial meeting to discuss the content trends and ideas.
2. Familiarizing oneself with the agency’s services, products, competitors, and industry trends in the market.
3. Brainstorming ideas with graphic artists for better visualization and translating copy into layouts and design.
4. Creating variations, copy options that need to be presented in editorial meetings
5. Modifying and revising copy based on the comments of the marketing manager until approval from the editorial team is finalized
Responsibilities and expected behaviors:
1. Meet deadlines without sacrificing the quality of work output
2. Participate actively in team activities like learning groups, meetings, brainstorming, and story conferences
3. Develop mastery of the skills of writing and maintaining the originality of the style and idiolect
4. Verify the factual content of the written work and reference quoted and paraphrased materials
5. Conduct interviews of people either over a conference call or via e-mail
6. Submit the material for publication in the required/expected format
7. Maintain an active interest in the communications and storytelling practice as a whole
8. Encourage and act upon critical feedback in the most appropriate manner
9. Show preparedness to rewrite and revise the work following feedback
10. Liaise, coordinate, and collaborate with the senior writer and marketing manager, the other writers, and the design team to complete content development
11. Welcome coaching from the content team as a whole
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Journalism, Communication Arts, Advertising, Marketing or any related courses
- 1 year experience in writing for digital formats is a plus
- We're looking for a writer who's reliable, responsive, and open to learning
- We need someone who is very proactive and ahs leadership skills
