Job Description

Under the leadership of and reporting to the marketing managers of each business unit (M2, MMI and OSI), the Content Writer will design and conduct content activities from research, data banking, and writing for different formats for the different communications campaigns of the marketing team.

The content writer is expected to review and understand each business unit’s brand and the creative and communication brief from editorial meetings. From there create original copy and content ideas that will be compelling for the readers and potential clients of M2.0 including blogs, case studies, scripts, and other forms of articles or content.

The content writer will also be required to collect the necessary data for concept development and content production through interviews, coverage, online or offline research and/or some other appropriate means.

Usually working on different content projects, the task assigned to the content writer includes the following:

  • Attendance in the editorial meeting to participate in the discussions on content trends and ideas.
  • Familiarizing oneself with the company’s services, products, competitors and industry trends in the market.
  • Brainstorming ideas with graphic artists for better visualization and translating copy into layouts and design.
  • Creating variations, copy options that needs to be presented in editorial meetings
  • Modifying and revising copy based on the comments of the marketing manager until approval from the editorial team is finalized

Responsibilities and expected behaviors:

  • Meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of work output
  • Participate actively in team activities like learning groups, meetings, brainstorming and story conferences
  • Develop mastery of the skills of writing and maintaining originality of the style
  • Verify the factual content of the written work
  • Conduct interviews of people either face-to-face, over the phone or via e-mail
  • Submit the material for publication in the required/expected format
  • Maintain an active interest in the communications and storytelling practice as a whole
  • Encourage and act upon critical feedback in the most appropriate manner
  • Show preparedness to rewrite and revise the work following feedback
  • Liase, coordinate and collaborate with the marketing manager, the other writers and design team to complete content development
  • Welcome coaching from the content team as a whole

Minimum Qualifications

  • A graduate of Journalism, Mass Communications, Communication Arts and or Marketing is a plus.
  • Great at MS office and knows how to use Google Suite (Google Docs,
