Job Description
Video editing professional for digital video production, specifically text overlay videos (TOV), speaking events and interviews.
About the position
Under the direction of the Video Production Lead, the Video Editor will:
- Fulfill a monthly quota of ten (10) Text Overlay Videos (TOV)
- This task will include:
- Finding suitable video footage and images
- Compiling video footage, images, text and audio supplied to the Video Editor by the Video Production Lead
- Make and deliver a raw cut with introduction, text overlays, audio, and closing call to action or animation
- Make revisions to raw cut based on direction from the Video Production Lead and complete a fine cut, additional text, introduction, Call To Action, and colour correction
- Upload Final Result to the desired location (Google drive, Facebook or Youtube)
- Complete a TOV in one business day
- Work remotely with the Video Production Lead using tools such as Google Drive and Asana
- This task will include:
- After two months, increase the speed of TOV creation to one video per day.
- In addition, there will be up to two hours of footage each month which must be edited into a final cut. The Video Editor must be able to complete the following editing tasks from raw footage:
- Sync video and audio
- Make a first cut for review by the Video Production Lead
- Transcribe Audio using tools such as Facebook and Youtube
- Basic After Effects using established templates and design guidelines
- This includes introduction animations, titles, closing animations
- Fine cut
- Picture Lock
- Colour Correction
- Sound Equalization
- Sound Mixing
- Export final videos to desired format
- Upload final videos to the desired location (Google drive, Facebook or Youtube)
- In time, the Video Editor will be expected to create short 40 to 90 second clips from raw footage. The Video Production Lead will provide direction for these clips after a quality standard has been developed and is understood by both the Video Editor and the Video Production Lead.

- Amenable to work in shifting schedule (Dayshift/Night Shift)
