Job Description
The Environmental, Health, Safety & Security (EHS&S) Manager provides leadership and accountability of business EHS&S goals, programs, and processes for Philippine site. It supports the regional and global EHS&S team, and the site operations in managing the environmental, health and safety, and physical security risks of the company’s processes and activities in order to provide a safe, healthy and secured workplace for its employees and contractors, protection of the environment, and cultivation of an integrated management system. In this role, the EHS&S Manager utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, build effective partnerships and have the ability to affect the site’s short-term and long-term EHS&S goals.
Responsibilities:
- Provide effective site leadership and engagement on achieving world-class performance related to environment, health, safety & security and coordinating all interaction with other sites EHS&S resources and external partners in conjunction with current policies and regulations.
- Lead and collaborate with the site leadership teams on the best way to drive cultural change around safety that drives high employee engagement.
- Leverage EHS&S best practices across the company, articulate and implement goals and objectives, initiatives, policies and procedures, and key performance indicators.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Functional leaders to foster support for continual EHS&S improvement.
- Maintain and develop site EHS&S team and provide change leadership and talent development.
- Support the development of and drive the implementation of EHS&S global standards and programs with the regional and global EHS&S teams to ensure adequate and necessary knowledge of EHS&S regulations, requirements and company objectives.
- Direct and supervise site EHS&S professionals in executing individual responsibilities.
- Support EHS&S awareness, understanding and compliance with applicable EHS&S regulatory and contractual requirements. Works with external vendors and advisers as required, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health and safety, and security regulations and best practices.
- Collect, monitor, analyze and evaluate metrics that measure effectiveness of EHS&S programs, processes and compliance and provide feedback to senior management.
- Lead the execution and sustenance of EHS management systems, programs, and processes to ensure continual improvements, business and site compliance with regulatory and other requirements.
- Support the implementation of Integrated Management System, Function and Site Business Continuity Process.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: A bachelor’s degree is required, and preferably with a master's degree in environmental, and occupational health and safety, and at least 10 years of experience in the EHS&S field or in a related area. Compliance audit experience required.
- Experience leading EHS&S programs in both manufacturing and support service organizations.
- Experience managing EHS&S organizations and assessing, mentoring and developing talent.
- Strong influence management capability needed.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
- Continuous improvement/Lean Six Sigma experience required, Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
- Leadership experience in driving culture change and implementing procedures and best practices.
- Leadership: The EHS&S Manager must be a confident, resourceful leader with a global mindset who excels at getting the most from the people and company assets.
- Skilled in a matrix oriented environment, he/she must have the technical credibility and interpersonal skills to gain the immediate respect of the leadership teams, peers, and senior management. This individual must bring an open mind and have a collaborative mindset.

- Strong interpersonal and judgment skills to influence teams are essential, along with outcome-focused decision making. Ability to relate to a broad spectrum of people and unite various groups.

Therefore, the successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multifunctional teams to bring about change. The EHS&S Manager must possess business maturity and be comfortable in rapidly changing environments, will act with a sense of urgency to drive sustainable results.
- Subject Matter Expert: The EHS&S Manager must have the knowledge and capability to drive safety and security culture in partnership with other site and regional leaders. To perform this job successfully,
- The EHS&S Manager must be well-versed in ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 45001: 2018, and ISO 22301: 2019 management systems implementation.
- Full understanding of Philippines’ chemical, environmental, occupational health and safety, and security-related legal and other requirements.
- Must be accredited Occupational Safety and Health Consultant (SO4 equivalent) by the Department of Labor and Employment; accredited Pollution Control Officer (PCO) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environmental Management Bureau and the Laguna Lake Development Authority; and, preferably a Certified Security Professional (CSP).
