Job Description
Get to know the Role:
The Map Ops Associate will be an integral team member of the GEO product tech family that is tasked to support local & regional mapping initiatives and provide a seamless experience to our customers.
The day-to-day activities:
- Collecting data using proprietary software & internal tools
- Monitoring, analyzing & grading large sets of geo data regular validation and site visits
- Perform regular quality checks, translation & transcription where applicable
- Coordinate with cross-functional & local transport teams to drive projects
- Collaborate with local teams for map & geo-related data requests
- Conduct training locally & regionally as needed
- Support customer feedback (passengers, drivers and Grab employees)
- To adhere to Grab confidentiality procedures & policies when collecting, storing and sharing data
Minimum Qualifications
The must haves:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Computer Science, Engineer or equivalent
- 2-3 years of mapping experience with hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment preferably in a consumer tech firm or surveying company.
- Experience in surveying and analyzing large sets of geo data using computer software preferably ArcGIS & QGIS
- Extremely metrics driven with experience in data analysis and in creating thematic maps to drive projects and launches.
- Understands how map operations influence the product and customer experience
- Advanced Excel skills are preferred
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Experience in handling community events and conducting relevant training sessions
- Willing to travel locally & regionally as needed
