Job Description
This position will be a member of the Global IT Infrastructure Services organization responsible for professional and technical work related to hosting services.
This is an intermediate service supporting role, primarily responsible for the transitional and operational tasks and duties in support of hosting service implementations that span across a broad range of global services and solutions. Primary focus of this role will be on providing support for one or more application systems and the underlying infrastructure. This could include, but is not limited to, applications such as RightFax, AutoSys, MQ Series, Hyperion, FileNet, JBOSS, Apache/Tomcat.
Responsibilities will include:
- Performs timely response and resolution to requests and incidents raised through various channels of support including but not limited to ticketing systems, email, chat, in-person, phone, etc. Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions. Follow through to resolution, or escalation to appropriate team, while maintaining appropriate documentation requirements.
- Administers, maintains and monitors applications running on Windows and Linux servers running in the data centers. Maintains maximum availability of mission critical systems around the globe and ensures availability and accessibility.
- Monitor to maintain system performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and uptime), while testing for weaknesses or vulnerabilities to ensure system security, stability and availability. - Conduct analysis reporting, performance tuning and troubleshooting in coordination with internal and external escalation points.
- Works with application teams by providing references and support to leverage best practices within our environment. Contribute to and maintain system standards.
- Flexibility in work schedules, including evening, weekend, holiday and rotating shift requirements. - Ability to run breakfix incident resolutions that may have on-call requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of experience with the following:
- Manages and maintains application server environments including tuning applications and systems to ensure optimal performance and protection of data
- Complete service requests, installs, upgrades, refreshes, patching, granting access, modifying configurations, gathering KPI data
- Intermediate knowledge of Linux/Windows operating systems
- Demonstrated successful experience in developing efficient and effective solutions to business problems
- Advanced understanding of middleware standards and systems integration to support applications
- Plan, document and implement application and system changes
- Good understanding of networking technology and protocols
