Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare federal and state income and franchise tax returns and/or state and local and use tax returns through knowledge and research of specific tax information and regulations
- Prepare quarterly estimated tax payments and extension requests.
- Assist with the preparation of the Company's quarterly and year-end consolidated tax provision in accordance with Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) no. 109, Accounting for Income Taxes.
- Reconcile federal, state, and international tax accounts to ensure accuracy in financial statement reporting.
- Reconcile appropriate general ledger accounts and journal entries to track and maintain balance information.
- Document quarterly and year-end tax provision processes that satisfy compliance in Section 404 of Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.· Assist with the preparation of Form 5471, Information Return for U.S. Persons with Respect to Certain Foreign Corporations, for various foreign subsidiaries to be included in the Company's federal income tax returns.
- Recommends alternative tax treatments to alleviate or reduce tax burden.
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting required; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
- Three or more years of progressive work experience in public accounting or private industry.
- Experience in the Statement of Financial Accounting Standards (FAS) no. 109, Accounting for Income Taxes required.
- Proficiency in computerized tax preparation software and tax research software.
