Job Description
The Senior Accountant is responsible for ensuring the validity of all Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.’s daily transactions. He/she will also be responsible for the preparation of BOT and ExCom Financial reports, as well as the reconciliation and validation of monthly financial reports. The successful candidate’s tasks would also include preparing the annual admin expense budget and budget reforecast. Furthermore, he/she will be managing AFI’s cash position to ensure that AFI is able to meet all the funding requirements.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Helping achieve operational objectives by ensuring the validity of Aboitiz Foundation’s daily transactions.
- Closely monitoring of the foundation’s cash position and investment portfolio to ensure that all the foundation’s funding requirements are met.
- Ensuring that donation documents are in compliance with all relevant BIR, SEC regulations, and AEV Accounting policies
- Aid in project status monitoring by making sure that all supplier payments are supported by ATP compliant supplier official receipts and by preparing a periodic report on outstanding cash advances and taking necessary action to ensure that all cash advance liquidations are done and recorded on a timely basis
- Ensuring that AFI achieves its fund release commitment to the business units by processing check releases through UBP within the prescribed period
- Ensuring the timely preparation of BIR 2307 for every check release and verifies that the forms generated matches the monthly EWT balance.
- Ensuring the closure of CSR projects by managing all checks released and acknowledgement receipts and official receipts are submitted and scanned
- Reviewing purchase orders and cost reallocation requests to ensure that spending are within the approved budget
- Properly tracking AFI accounts balances to monitor the inflows and outflows of cash
- Monitoring admin expenses by verifying travel requests
- Promoting team member volunteerism by providing support and participating in AEV employee activities and various BU and AFI CSR projects
- Providing assistance on the reallocations of funds that in line with the budget of the BUs CSR Projects
- Identifying areas of improvement for existing processes to facilitate system enhancements and implement change
- Providing technical assistance to AFI team members and BU CSR officers on accounting and financial matters
- Supporting the foundation’s team members in the efficient and effective use of resources to achieve targets
- Aid in the preparation of external audit materials and external financial reporting
- Conducting periodic self-assessment ratings on order to determine if performance objectives are met. Aligning, adjusting and reviewing of performance outcomes
- Performing ad hoc tasks or special assignments
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be a graduate of BS Accountancy, BS Management Accounting, or BS Accounting Technology
- Must have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in the field
- CPA an advantage but not required
