Job Description
The Contracts and Compliance Manager is responsible for preparing, reviewing, and recording business contracts on behalf of the Company. The role ensures that all risks are mitigated and that any and all contracts and agreements are executed and recorded properly. Moreover, he/she is responsible for ensuring that the Company adheres to all relevant labor laws, rules and regulations.
In addition, the Contracts and Compliance Manager’s overall responsibility is to advise management (includes obligations, contractual risks and gains, etc.), oversee all contracts – negotiated and entered into – for optimal implementation and oversee the labor compliance of the Company.
- Formal duties include proper and on-time drafting and execution of agreements, correspondence, contracts, and resolutions
- Contribute to the drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts and other legal agreements;
- Act as a point of contact for customers, lessors, clients, partners, and internal employees;
- Act as a point contact for labor matters of the Company and its affiliated companies;
- Coordinate with the Human Resources Department in relation to labor matters or employee issues;
- Coordinate with the external counsel in relation to labor matters, issues or labor proceedings or cases;
- Maintain records of contracts and other legal agreements, with particular focus on monitoring continual compliance adherence;
- Effective management of contracts;
- Work with various internal departments to develop new procedures and staff training plans as needed to implement new compliance regulations;
- Provide guidance as needed to other employees to increase compliance-related competencies throughout the company;
- Ensure that affiliated companies are in full regulatory compliance with all relevant laws, rules, or regulations as required by relevant authorities including corporate housekeeping;
- Represent the Company and its affiliated companies in any labor matters or issues, when necessary;
- Deal and transact with relevant government agencies such as the Securities and Exchange Commission, National Telecommunications Commission, Intellectual Property Office, Department of Labor, Bureau of Immigration, Philippine Economic Zone Authority, Bureau of Internal Revenue, when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Management, or equivalent
- Solid work experience and excellent track record in similar positions, especially in contract management and labor regulations
- Strong business acumen and exercises sound judgment
- Advanced understanding of contracts, contract governance and lifecycle
- Advanced understanding of labor laws, rules and regulations
- Up-to-date and firm grasp of laws relating to commerce, contracts and obligations, sales, labor regulations, etc.
- Commendable communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Solid critical thinking skills and the ability to research and understand risks and implications
- Experience in the telecommunications industry is a plus
- Experience dealing with different government agencies
