YSS Laboratories Company, Inc.

YSS Laboratories Co., Inc. is a wholly-owned Filipino company organized in 1954 by the late Mr. Yao Shiong Shio and started its operation in 1956 under the supervision of Merck and Company’s (MSD) technical staff from New Jersey, USA. It is also a licensee of Merck and Company, USA (MSD) in the Philippines to manufacture Penicillin G Sodium and Streptomycin Injections from 1956 to 1976. The construction of our plant in Bonifacio Drive at Port Area Manila was under the supervision of Merck and Company’s engineers and technical staff to ensure compliance of their requirements as their licensee. In 1976, YSS Laboratories moved its sterile manufacturing facilities at its present site in United Nations Avenue Paco, Manila and became a licensee for repacking (primary and secondary) of imported MSD products being distributed by Cathay Drug Company, Inc. locally. In the early 2000s, YSS Laboratories expanded its activities into research and product development of generic pharmaceutical and veterinary drug products. It also recently opened its doors to interested clients for the manufacturing of their penicillin injections and enjoys the trust and confidence of its clients who values quality products and quality service that YSS is committed to give them. Furthermore, YSS Laboratories Co., Inc. received various quality awards that the Department of Health (DOH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have bestowed them as a company that is fully compliant with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The company also expanded it's business in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry by the construction of a new plant in Naic, Cavite. From its present site in UN Ave., Manila, the company will eventually relocate to its future site once the new plant has become operational.
