Western Samar Development Foundation,Inc. - CHED IRSE Grants

The organization is a non-stock, non profit development foundation. Geared towards addressing the needs of the disadvantaged sectors of Samar, Western Samar Development foundation, or widely known in the community as WESADEF is now on its 29 years of service. The flagship program of the foundation is empowering women and children coupled with livelihood projects and other projects towards family strengthening and prevention of family violence. The foundation provides shelter-based services to the girls victim-survivors of sexual abuse. The clients were provided comprehensive psychological interventions which are the Caring-Healing-Teaching services. The foundation is also actively providing information to the community to prevent incidence of abuses in the family and community likewise organize watchdog groups in the locality and trained them to refer and report to the concerned agencies. Multi-disciplinary team is also organized in 5 municipalities in Samar to provide timely, comprehensive and friendly services to the clients.
