Pollution Control Officer  

1. Attends to the maintenance and control and keeps up-to-date permits, licenses, applications, liaison, and records of compliance in accordance with established environmental regulatory requirements such as CCO, TRC, PTT, NTP, MOA or AJU HW manifest. SMR, CMR, DP, PTO, etc. face to face or via online with company and project sites as needed.
2. Keeps up to date the company’s pollution control manual and ensures that these policies and procedures are made known to all operating units of the company.
3. Conducts regular pollution control audits of facilities and operations of the project to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Determines promptly the corrective action needed to correct gaps as noted in the pollution control audits and submits appropriate report to Management.
4. Maintains a complete record of compliance for all audit reports and related documents for future reference by the company.
5. Supervises and monitors all activities pertaining to the installation or construction of pollution control facilities as needed by a project or the company such as HW storage area, Material Recovery Facility, Etc.
6. Submits recommendation to Management any improvement to the current pollution control policies, as maybe needed by government agencies such as Environmental Emergency Response Plan (EERP), Journey Management Plan (JMP), etc.
7. Supervise & monitor HW Inventory, Transport, Treatment & Disposal project.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Chemical Engineering is preferred; at least a one (1) year work experience as PCO of a company that operates in the same industry as WSMSI. Must be knowledgeable of Environmental Laws. Must be a duly accredited Pollution Practitioner with proper certificates. With experience in dealing with government agencies like the DENR, LGUs, Barangay and local government offices. Can operate a computer efficiently, proficiency in MS Office applications particularly in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point. Good in both written and verbal communication skills; good interpersonal skills, and a team builder too. Attention to details and ability to multi-task is an advantage. Prior work experience in handling people for at least a year is an advantage. Can work well under pressure and with minimum supervision.
