History On April 1, 2007, MiraMed Global Services became the new name for an organization and vision that began more than twenty-five years ago. In 1979, we began a small, medical practice management company. Along the way, we were one of the first in the industry to develop offshore operations and offer a “blended shore”-staffing model. And today, MiraMed is one of the largest healthcare business process outsourcing companies in the United States. Our growth can be attributed to our willingness and ability to listen to our clients, meet their needs--and, therefore, stay relevant. By doing so, MiraMed is able to help healthcare providers deal with existing market challenges. For example, in the current environment, healthcare providers are facing an unprecedented number of serious business and environmental challenges that have them struggling with increasingly feeble bottom-lines, while trying to maintain a high quality of care. It’s a complex problem that requires much more than a cursory solution. So, what is the answer? Large multi-national vendors, for the most part, demand “all or nothing” long-term contracts and do not specialize in healthcare, thereby glossing over many of the industry’s complexities and nuances. On the other hand, the smaller boutique providers are capable of offering outstanding service but do not have the global resources to meet the comprehensive needs of their clients. However, we envisioned something different, a company that could offer a customized approach to delivering a comprehensive, end-to-end business process solution, which translates into less risk for the client. We also realized that there was a need for a company that specializes exclusively in the healthcare industry and that could bring its collective intellectual resources to bear for the benefit of the client. And lastly, we wanted an organization with global operations to provide a blended shore staffing capability to match the business, financial and political realities of a client’s operation.
