Job Description

We are looking to find someone who is passionate about writing blog articles, website content, and marketing copy for our media analytics business. Media Meter, as our media analytics business is called, reveals conversations about brands by tracking mentions across thousands of media channels including newspapers, magazines, radio, TV, blogs, and social media. We are all about interpreting data to help organizations understand what’s happening in their bubble so that they can build more effective communications strategies for their brand.

Is the role right for you?

This is a B2B writing role where words sell ideas to large organizations (mostly corporate). Your target audience consists mainly of corporate communications managers, public relations and public affairs officers, and sometimes marketing leaders. You will drive awareness, thought leadership, and support both lead generation and account-based marketing campaigns.

As an experienced writer, you must be skilled at translating complex concepts into concise, attractive messages, with an unwavering attention to detail. If you learn fast and are a quick starter, you will like this job. The ideal applicant should be able to

  • Create compelling content for online newsletters, the media Meter website, and other channels. This includes data-driven news and feature writing about cutting-edge research on natural language processing (NLP).
  • Edit and fact-check content created by members of the team, as well as freelancers working with the team.
  • Plan social media content; help devise new campaigns for LinkedIn; and research, write, and edit posts.
  • Manage the Media Meter website; build web pages for new content; and maintain pages so that these are always current.
  • Create and edit content for marketing collateral; and participate in video creation initiatives.

What kind of support can you expect?

You will work closely with brand, creative, marketing and salespeople to deliver a large volume of B2B content to drive people to our website and to our LinkedIn page. Over the medium and long term, you will be supported by a veteran communications team to help you deliver projects on time, within budget and with the desired outcomes aligned to objectives.

How about the package?

We’re looking at two tiers here. At a junior level, you can expect a monthly salary of between P20,000 to 30,000. However, if you have a minimum of five years of experience as a writer and content development specialist, working in marketing and communications or more generally in editorial services and journalism, we can pay you from P30,000 to 50,000 a month.

Minimum Qualifications

Are you right for the role?

Big data is super interesting but has a steep learning curve. You will need to have a genuine passion for learning new technologies to succeed in this job. If you’re familiar with analytics and software, you might want to try us out. If you love telling stories through data, we would love to have you onboard.

You will need a stomach for revisions and criticism. If you can persist despite being asked to improve upon your work through numerous iterations, you might be a good candidate for this role. We’re looking for someone with

  • A bias towards data-driven storytelling.
  • A tendency to analyze data because of inherent curiosity in how things work.
  • Outstanding copywriting and editing skills, producing content and campaigns, with a demonstrated ability to distill technical concepts into clear and concise messaging that is communicated visually and in a compelling manner.
  • Three-plus years of relevant work experience in content marketing (would be a plus).
  • Two-plus years of journalism experience dishing out content daily (would be a plus).
  • An obsession for re-writing.
  • A massive thirst for learning.
