The Kumon Method of Learning began out of a father’s love for his son. In 1954, Toru Kumon, a high school math teacher in Japan, created handmade worksheets for his son to steadily develop his calculation skills. As a result, his son, Takeshi, was able to reach the level of differential and integral calculus when he was just a few months into the sixth grade.
This same method that helped Takeshi advance beyond his school grade level is now catering to 4 million students across 49 countries and regions around the world. We, in Kumon, believe that each individual can advance irrespective of their age and their school grade level.
In the Philippines, there are more than 270 Kumon Centers, ready to nurture students in pursuit of their potential. Kumon Laoag City Center is the ONLY center in Ilocos Norte and has been pursuing excellence in their students for 15 years.
