The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with families and community organizations in support of the organization's mission. This individual will work to engage families and communities in programs and services designed to promote positive parenting and child development.
- Develop and implement strategies to engage families and communities in programs and services related to parenting and child development.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations, such as schools, health clinics, and faith-based organizations, to promote the organization's mission and services.
- Conduct outreach and education to families and communities on the importance of positive parenting and child development.
- Facilitate workshops and group discussions on parenting topics, such as effective communication, discipline, and child development.
- Provide one-on-one support to families in need of additional assistance, including referrals to community resources.
- Maintain accurate records and data on program participants and activities.
- Collaborate with other departments and staff to ensure seamless delivery of services to families and communities.
- Attend community events and meetings to promote the organization's mission and services.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Family Services.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work, education, psychology, or sociology
- 2-3 years of experience working with families and communities / any related fields
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with others
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
- Cultural competence and the ability to work with families from diverse backgrounds
- Proficiency in technology and computer programs, such as email, spreadsheets, and databases
- Passion for community engagement and a genuine interest in making a positive impact on families and communities
