Audit Assistant  

Position Overview:
The Audit Assistant is primarily responsible for assisting with the physical counting process in boutiques and department stores within the Fashion Retail Company. This role ensures the accurate tracking of inventory and identifies discrepancies to maintain the integrity of the company’s financial records and stock levels.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Physical Counting:
   • Conduct regular and ad-hoc physical counts of inventory items in boutiques and department stores.
   • Accurately record the count results and ensure they align with the system records.
   • Identify and report discrepancies between the physical count and system records.
2. Documentation & Reporting:
   • Document the inventory count process, noting any challenges or variances observed.
   • Prepare count sheets and reconcile them with the inventory management system.
   • Submit detailed reports on count results, discrepancies, and any potential reasons for those discrepancies to the Audit Supervisor.
3. Process Improvement:
   • Suggest process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the physical counting process.
   • Coordinate with the inventory management team to understand and rectify any recurring discrepancies.
4. Communication:
   • Collaborate with store personnel during the count process to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruption.
   • Address any queries or concerns raised by store personnel regarding the counting process.
5. Compliance:
   • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and audit standards during the counting process.
   • Stay updated on any changes in inventory audit processes or standards.
6. Training:
   • Assist in training new team members or store personnel on inventory counting best practices and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Education:A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred.
2. Experience: Previous experience in inventory counting, retail, or auditing is an advantage.
3. Skills:
   • Strong attention to detail.
   • Good numeracy skills.
   • Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
   • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods.
