Job Description
- Manages cost relating to building and civil engineering projects, from the initial calculations to final figures.
- Minimize the costs of a project and enhance value for money, within the required standards and quality.
- Keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability.
- Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- Obtain and verify installed quantities by physical on-site measurements and surveys.
- Prepares quantity take-offs from drawings for field reporting and construction planning.
- Prepare and maintain the established project quantity management program on site and prepares appropriate reports.
- Establish and maintain quantity files on each activity of work performed on the project.
- Assist the project controls team on any required in-depth quantity studies, and interpretation of drawings and field quantities.
- Assists in preparing quantity comparisons for progress and performance reports.
- Participate in the reconciliation of installed quantities.
- Monitors the project within the scope of work, budget and schedule.
- Monitor and control progress measurement on site.
- Reviewing and costing project changes/variations.
- Prepares graphs or charts or data & input into a computer for in-depth analysis and future references.
Minimum Qualifications
- QS Engineer must have a strong attention to detail and have the ability to read construction plans and designs specifications and blueprints.
- QS Engineer must have computer skills to record inspection data and create reports for Quality Management Team.
- QS Engineer must be a graduate as per requirement, preferably Licensed Engineer, and at least 1-2 years combined experienced and exposure in building construction ( mid-rise to hi-rise buildings) and site development earthworks.
- Reports to the Project Control Manager for assignments, instructions, updates and guidance.
