Job Description

As a care coordinator, you will be responsible for supporting our clients' most important asset their members. Our client is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and detail-oriented team player to join their growing team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a clinical resource for members seeking guidance on screenings or other preventative measures that help to optimize a member’s (and/or their family’s) overall health
  • Lead the internal review of client plan documents, preparing benefit coverage summaries that our Provider
  • Relations and Support team can use in answer members’ (program coverage) questions
  • Provide notice of coverage documentation that outlines specific protocols that certain specialties may require a member to adhere to (i.e., physical therapy, chiropractic visits, oncology, bariatric procedures, etc.)
  • Serve as a clinical support option on the Support team, handling live member calls, emails, and chats for any member seeking clinical assistance during their use of the program
  • Serve as a clinical point of contact for providers who have any clinical coverage questions regarding treatment options (second opinion options, alternative treatment plans in lieu of surgeries, etc.)
  • Follow up with pending items and make sure that members are updated on a timely/responsive basis
  • Adhere to required documentation standards to ensure all provider support and member support questions are properly logged and documented for client reviews, analytical reviews, and legal purposes.
  • Initiate and oversee infographics and other marketing materials for key healthcare awareness months (Breast Cancer Awareness, Colon Cancer Awareness, Diabetes Education, Menopause, etc.)
  • Proactively provide ideas on how to market or serve our member base more effectively
  • Become proficient in the client’s program knowledge in an effort to provide the highest level of support and service to members
  • Work on special projects deemed key by management and/or at the suggestion of staff where the projects serve a strategic purpose in improving program and service delivery – collaborate with management on project priorities as needed
  • Perform other miscellaneous office duties as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Must be a Licensed Nurse in good standing (USRN)
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of strong clinical experience at the clinic or hospital level
  • Patient advocacy experience (not required but a Plus)
  • Strong medical terminology acumen
  • Familiarity with Plan Document Review and Analysis
  • Must be able to work full time (8 AM CST to 5 PM CST – Monday through Friday)
  • Weekend Work is Not Required; however, occasional weekend work may be needed based on member needs (ample notice will be given)
  • Strong communicator (ability to effectively tailor message based on the audience)

  • Solid computer skills, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills

System Requirements

  • At least 15mbps main internet and at least 10mbps for backup
  • A desktop or laptop that has an i5 processor with at least 4 GB RAM and an i3 processor for backup
  • Note: Back-ups should still be able to function when there is a power interruption
