Convergys employs over 25,000 people in thirteen contact centers located in Metro Manila’s premier business districts; Pasig City and Makati City, the Filinvest Corporate City in Alabang, Muntinlupa City, two centers in Quezon City, one each in Manila and Sta. Rosa, Laguna, three centers at the premiere city in Southern Philippines, Cebu and one in Bacolod City.
Operations run 24 hours per day at the integrated contact center providing both customer care support, advanced technical help desk services and market research via e-mail, voice, and Web chat as well as "back office" application and document processing for Fortune 1000 companies in high growth industries such as telecommunications, technology, logistics and financial services.
In addition, Convergys Philippines was selected to house Convergys’ 3rd Global Command Center (GCC), supporting advanced, proprietary technology to quickly distribute and route incoming calls to the centers having available capacity in the Convergys network worldwide. Housed in the CVG1 Ayala site, it became operational in
2010. The launch of a GCC in the Philippines further enhances our ability to deliver the high-level customer service that our clients and their customers have come to expect from the global leader in relationship management.
The Philippine Convergys facilities encompass forty eight contact center floors with close to 13,000 seats covering over one million square feet and include recruiting and testing areas, 124 training rooms, conference and meeting rooms, administrative areas, and full cafeteria service. In addition, Convergys has a training center occupying 27,800 square feet providing 18 training rooms.
Convergys’ expansion into the Philippines was prompted by the contact center friendly atmosphere that the country possesses. Convergys Philippines Services Corporation is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Convergys Corporation.
The contact centers in the Philippines are closely integrated with Convergys' "Global Assurance Network." This gives Convergys control of its end-to-end operations and processes, just as the company has in the United States, Canada, Europe, and India, and assures 100 percent redundancy in case of an emergency. Convergys is able to deploy this "Global Assurance Network" via dual international DS3 lines to avoid unnecessary duplication and expense.
Convergys is dedicated to Corporate Citizenship, via the Convergys Community Action Network (CAN) and Convergys Foundation. The Community Action Network is driven by the hearts and hands of our own employees. In 2010 alone, close to Php750, 000 in cash was raised, thousands of items donated, and hundreds of volunteer hours given –purely from our employees’ volunteerism in various causes around the country. The Employee Engagement Team is now developing an outreach program that will aid elementary and high school students with their school supply requirements this year. On the other hand, via the Convergys Foundation, Convergys Corporation made a $20,000 contribution to GawadKalinga, a non-government organization devoted to the construction of low cost housing for the urban poor. The contribution also included the participation of Convergys employees in the construction of these houses in the areas near the different centers as well as the set-up of Convergys Youth Centers, multipurpose halls designed to help the residents build their English language and computer skills.
In April, 2010, Convergys was recognized by the International ICT Awards-Philippines as the BPO Company of the Year. This coveted award is given to the BPO (Business
Process Outsourcing) company that has achieved the most growth and has shown excellence in management, operations, care for people and corporate social responsibility. This is on top of Convergys being awarded the BPO Employer of the Year in 2006 and 2008.
The following month, Convergys was elevated by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) to its Hall of Fame for Exporter of the Year and Employer of the Year. This is in recognition of Convergys winning these awards for three years.
