Job Description
- The position is responsible for supporting the process through which the Company decides on long-term direction and sets strategic goals to help the Company maintain and increase its competitive advantage. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, the main functions of this position include:
- Managing the process for developing, aligning, documenting, and monitoring strategies
- Modelling and forecasting long-term market prices and key trends, including on key commodities and technologies
- Gathering and analyzing information on industry and competition, locally and abroad, including in-depth understanding of key players
- Developing feasibility studies for new business models and projects
- Monitoring, assessing and evaluation impact of potential industry disruptors (technology, legal, political)
- Supporting senior and mid-management to spot, assess, and take decisions on new opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Economics, Engineering, Finance, Marketing or any 4-year related course
- Master’s degree, preferred
- 3 years in a strategy, corporate planning, or business development role. Or in a role in consulting, investment banking, investing, or equity research role.
- Experience developing and evaluating business plans.
- Experience in electricity market modelling using forecast tools (e.g. EMCAS, Marketsym, Aurora, Plexos), preferred
