Responsibilities:
- Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take on the challenge of improving our financial reporting and accounting processes leading a team of 5 analysts
- Using your deep understanding of our processes, our business objectives, and supporting systems, you will design and implement sustainable & streamlined end-to-end solution for our strategic reporting requirements (financial and management reporting)
- In-charge of our annual audits to meet GAAP and local statutory reporting and investor requirements. You will be involved in the interpretation of current and emerging GAAP/IFRS/SEC rules and requirements to understand impact to our company
- As a people manager, you will be directly responsible in directing work plans/priorities and be responsible for achieving your own goals and the goals of the Financial Reporting & Accounting team
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements:
- Certified Public Accountant, or substantial professional experience in Finance & Accounting areas in lieu of a CPA
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience in general accounting, financial process engineering, and/or setting up start-up finance/accounting operations in an entrepreneurial environment, with at least 3 years experience in people management
- Experience in General Accounting and/or managing multiple Finance & Accounting projects with demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal skills
Mindset and Attitude:
- Can work with minimal supervision in an entrepreneurial environment
- Bias for action and drive to achieve results
- Strong interest in learning new skills and adapting old ones to new situations
Skill Set:
- Strong communication skills - written, interpersonal, and digital/virtual
- Solid understanding of GAAP, financial statements and accounting theory combined with project management expertise
- Experience in using QuickBooks, XERO and/or MYOB is preferred. Additional accounting ERP systems experience such as SAP and Oracle Financials, a plus
- Organisation building capability
- Strong command in managing spreadsheet and databases
