Merchandise Planning Analyst  

Retail Operations and Marketing:

• Analyzes the following:
  • Demographic and traffic patterns in order to recommend optimal locations for new stores and relocation of old stores.
  • In-store traffic per store to recommend merchandise mix of stores.
  • Sales reports.
    • Comes up with recommendations regarding needed marketing support.

Merchandising:

• Visits suppliers and attends trade fairs and exhibitions in order to know new market trends.
• Does product development efforts and sources products in order to sharpen Tesoro’s goal of differentiation.
• Analyzes product category assortment, inventory levels, and movements.
  • Recommends action to management in order to minimize stockouts and maximize inventory turns.
• Prepares, executes, and reports performance to budgets.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned by immediate superior from time to time.

• At least a Bachelor's / College degree in any of the following:
  • Economics
  • Marketing Management
  • Clothing Technology
  • Industrial Design
  • Food Technology
• At least around 5 years of work experience in a similar function.
• Deep product knowledge.
• Proper store upkeep.
• Knowledge of proper stocking levels.
• Knowledge of company, customers, competitors, suppliers, and industry.
• Strong negotiation skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy (particularly with proficiency in MS Excel).
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and planning skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Financial management.
