What is Operations Apprenticeship Program?

The Operations Apprenticeship Program is a six-month intensive program which combines classroom learning and on-the-job training in preparation for a career in the insurance industry. The Program is geared towards new or recent University graduates. No prior knowledge of, or experience with, insurance is required.

The Program provides a unique blend of classroom learning and on the job work experience.

What would you be doing as an Insurance Operations Apprentice?

As an Insurance Operations Apprentice, you will work alongside a number of different areas in Operations allowing you to develop your skills and insurance experience. Tasks may include basic data entry and processing for new business, account services, claims, and underwriting. The role also supports office procedure: simple document processing, completion of standard forms/letters for mailing to client and correspondences through email or telephone.

As you contribute to the business, the business will contribute to your future. As an Insurance Operations Apprentice at Sun Life Financial we will support you in your development to an Associate 2 role in Operations.

• Must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Business or related courses or Allied Medical Science courses
• No work experience is required
• Must be proficient in MS Office applications
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
