Construction Quality Manager  

Quality Managers oversee making sure their employer's products meet acceptable quality standards. Construction Quality Managers make certain that construction delivered to the client complies with plans, specifications, codes and standards.

Quality Manager typical work activities

• Develop, launch, implement, monitor and manage company and project-specific quality control plans and initiatives.
• Provides technical expertise, training, facilitation, and tools to promote continuous quality control and improvement efforts across all projects asz well as with customers and trade partners/suppliers.
• Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration.
• Setting and enforcing company and project standards for quality
• Looking at ways to reduce waste and increase efficiency
• Defining quality procedures with company and project staff
• Monitoring qualzity performance by gathering relevant data
• Making suggestions for changes and improvements and how to implement them;
• Using relevant quality tools and making sure managers and other staff understand how to improve the business;
• Making sure the company is working as effectively as possible to keep up with competitors.
• Control and the distribution of all the company’s quality documentation
• Monitor all quality related activities
• Perform all internal and external audits on behalf of the company’s management
• Verify contractor quality requirements are specified to vendors and contractor documentation submittals.
• Review quality inspection personnel qualifications and training requirements
• Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system. Recommend and implement improvements when required.
• Coordinate all QA/QC activities with the site managers
• Coordinate all quality related correspondence with the customer's representatives.
• Action and close all customer complaints.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
• Minimum of 5 years in Construction Quality Control
• Experience with idevelopment and implementation action of quality control plans and corrective action plans
• Professional certifications are an advantage

Abilities

• Excellent math abilities and working knowledge of data analysis/statistical methods
• Civil Engineering, Mechanical, or any relevant field
• Able to develop, read, understand and manage construction specifications to ensure quality of construction is in accordance with the contract and design
• Able to use appropriate computer programs/software to manage and communicate project progress, issues, status and other construction and quality management issues.
• Clear, professional and concise written and verbal reporting skills in English
