Job Description
- Undertakes the following:
- Technical design work and design checking for projects in accordance with the Company System, as appropriate to the organisation of each particular project, to meet project specific time and quality targets.
- Independent studies and analysis; preparing recommendations and conclusion for formal reviews of lead engineers/project managers.
- Works towards the continuous improvement of the department section by utilizing effective and standardized calculation systems and other design tools.
- Ensures that markups are delivered to the CAD team on a timely basis and ensures that all documents returned from the CAD team are thoroughly checked for correctness and compliance with the company standard procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- Registered Civil Engineer; or passed PRC licensure board exam for Civil Engineers.
- Minimum of 2 years hands-on experience in detailed design of steel and concrete structures for URBAN BUILDING/facility design projects and/or INFRASTRUCTURE design projects.
- Overseas experience (working in other countries, or project designs at out-sourcing companies) is an advantage but not essential.
- At least 2 years experience or more as Civil / Structural Design Engineer for low-rise, mid-rise and high-rise Commercial / Institutional / Residential Buildings and/or Shopping Malls.
- With design software user skills in CAD, STAAD or ETABS and computer literate in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Good in spoken and written English communication skills
- Good technical skills and familiarity with design software such as STAAD or ETABS, Prokon, SAFE, ROBOT, RAPT, RAM Concept and Strand 7.
- Should be able to demonstrate knowledge of design codes and familiarity with BS, ACI, and/or Euro codes is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications e.g. Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
