Position Summary:

The position is responsible for the proper execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures, and ensure the safe and efficient operation of all generating units during the shift.

The company started as the Union Steel Plant Division of Bacnotan Cement Industries, Inc. (Bacnotan), a pioneer in the Philippine Cement Industry. It began commercial operations in 1963 with a galvanizing plant in Poro, La Union for the manufacture of Galvanized Iron (GI) sheets, expanding to Ilang, Davao City in 1968 and to Calamba, Laguna in 1990. In 1993, the steel plant was spun off from Bacnotan as a separate business unit, and incorporated as Bacnotan Steel Corporation, later renamed UNION GALVASTEEL CORPORATION (UGC). The company in 1997 established a modern Continuous Galvanizing Line and Color Coating Line for the manufacture of prepainted galvanized steel coils in Calamba, Laguna.

Union Galvasteel Corporation

<ul>
	<li>Facilitates preparations of Sales Invoices, Billing Invoices, Debit and Credit Memos, and other billing documents.</li>
	<li>Performs AR accounts clearing (applications of OR and CM to Invoices and DM).</li>
	<li>Complete relevant period-end closing activities and provide support whenever necessary on the consolidation and reporting activities at corporate level.</li>
	<li>Analyze receipts, invoices and payment details to ensure reconciliations are accurate and updated.</li>
	<li>Evaluate account receivable and identify critical issues.</li>
	<li>Investigate and resolve customer billing inquiries in a timely manner.</li>
	<li>Ensure CWT are posted in a timely manner and follow-up are made for un-submitted certificates.</li>
	<li>Ensure thorough handling of account receivables- trade by generating AR aging reports and AR Totals report.</li>
	<li>Provides assistance in the periodic stock takes.</li>
	<li>Perform and Accomplish End of Day Protocols and Generate End of Day Reports.</li>
	<li>Attend to audit requirements to help ensure successful completion of audit.</li>
	<li>Support management by identifying improvement in work-flow simplification / process improvement.</li>
	<li>Maintain the highest ethical and integrity standards in all internal and external dealings and external relationships.</li>
	<li>Performs task and other duties that maybe assigned by his/her immediate supervisor from time to time.</li>

Accounts Receivable Accountant

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency of all of the mechanical components of the grid.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities :

<ul>
	<li>Inspects the plants on a weekly basis to monitor stability or efficiency of the mechanical system of the grid.</li>
	<li>Inspects turbine parts and checks other operating parameters such as vibration and temperature to prevent bearing damages. Reports abnormalities observed to team leader. If needs repair, seeks approval from Team Leader.</li>
	<li>Inspects Operator’s checklist on turbine conditions, temperature, vibration, and check for abnormalities.</li>
	<li>Conducts tool box meetings with plant mechanics to check concerns in specific areas of assignment. Discusses abnormalities observed in the plants.</li>
	<li>Implements work orders on repair of turbine parts. Ensures that work orders are done within budget, quality and schedule.</li>
	<li>Assists and supervises the conduct of mechanical repairs.</li>
	<li>Prepares work schedule of plant mechanics and ensure availability of mechanic at all times.</li>
	<li>Monitors attendance and overtime of personnel and encodes their Daily Time Record for payroll purposes.</li>
	<li>Prepares monthly accomplishment reports for electrical maintenance activities in the grid and submits to Maintenance Supervisor.</li>

	<li>Attends grid meetings and raises concerns of the electrical maintenance team for proper action.</li>
	<li>Responds to ISO requirements and Implements Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and determination of Controls (ORMP)/Aspect Impact Assessment for mechanical maintenance activities in the grid. Updates ORMP form as needed.</li>
	<li>Conducts studies on INYOvation Projects for Operations and Maintenance and submits to immediate superior for review.</li>
</ul>

During Rehabilitation

<ul>
	<li>Assists in the rehabilitation of equipment and ensures that parts are correctly installed.</li>
	<li>Prepares billing reports on mechanical maintenance contracts.</li>
</ul>

Other Related Tasks

	<li>Evaluates performance of subordinates on a periodic basis to determine performance level and areas for improvement.</li>
	<li>Complies with company policies and procedures, safety rules and practices.</li>
	<li>Conforms to the company’s Integrated Management Systems, policies, standards, procedures and guidelines.</li>
	<li>Reports any Integrated Management System events/incidents or potential events or other risks to the organization.</li>
	<li>Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference by:</li>
	<li>Storing documents, forms, contracts, manuals, books and other documents to locked storage rooms/steel cabinets.</li>
	<li>Maintaining confidentiality and integrity of all plant records necessary for operations.</li>
	<li>Performs any other related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by immediate superior consistent with the purpose of this role.</li>

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

	<li>Perform risk Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs</li>
	<li>Manage every aspect of the supply chain and notify the COO of any possible obstacles to ideal efficiency</li>
	<li>Coordinate timely deliveries</li>
	<li>Provide proper documentations and reports for Billing and Accounting requirements</li>
	<li>Coordinate with the Warehouse Officers for timeley requests, supplier deliveries and reconcile Inventory on-hand</li>
	<li>Maintain trasparency as to cost and pricing</li>
	<li>Support the Accounting department with documentations and paperworks associated with deliveries and purchasing </li>
	<li>Reconciling daily, monthly and yearly requests, delivery and inventory transactions</li>
	<li>Prepare reports and paperworks as requied and post entries to accounting/purchasing software ensuring accuracy and timeliness</li>
