Quezon City Local Government

The Quezon City Polytechnic was created on March 1, 1994 by virtue of the City Council Ordinance No. SP-171 an institution to primarily undertake the training and development of qualified technicians and skilled workers.

The Three-Year Technician Curriculum was introduced in the SY 1994-1995 designed to develop highly competent technicians for industry in the areas of Automotive Technology, Electrical Technology, Welding Technology, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology, and Fashion Technology. In 2001, Ordinance SP – 1030 created a charter for the establishment of Quezon City Polytechnic University. QCPU started its operation by offering one (1) year programs and short term courses. By the year 2005, QCPU started offering college degree courses. Under the supervision of the CMO Director, the APS Campus Minister assists in planning, conducting, coordinating and evaluating the various activities of the APS Campus Ministry to include its liturgical life and spiritual formation activities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Sacramental Life

<ul>
	<li>Oversees the use, maintenance and services of the Chapel/Oratory, Sacristy, and CMO Office</li>
	<li>Coordinates with the APS Chaplain &amp; CMO Director in planning and organizing special masses/rituals
	<ul>
		<li>Feast of St. Ignatius</li>
		<li>Mass of the Holy Spirit</li>
		<li>First Friday Masses</li>
		<li>Baccalaureate Masses</li>
		<li>Commemorative Feasts, Special Occasions and Other Masses</li>
		<li>Special Rituals (e.g. blessings/Masses at ASMPH, 
		Masses for Barristers, AGSB, ALS, and ASoG, etc)</li>
	</ul>
	</li>
	<li>Trains volunteers for liturgical celebrations</li>
	<li>Assigns and coordinates with volunteers for liturgical services (lectors, Eucharistic ministers, acolytes, choir)</li>
	<li>Serves as Liturgical Minister in daily and special masses as needed</li>
	<li>Coordinates with the assigned Schools the schedules of the liturgical services and consults them regarding their other liturgical needs</li>
</ul>

II. Formation and Spirituality

<ul>
	<li>Retreats and Recollections 
	<ul>
		<li>Plans, implements, and evaluates programs for the spiritual well-being of the assigned Schools</li>
		<li>Organizes annual retreats, recollections, days of prayer, retreat in daily life, Ignatian programs, etc.</li>
		<li>Does ocular inspection of venues for retreats and recollections</li>
		<li>Conceptualizes and develops modules, and other training material relevant to the spiritual formation programs and activities of APS Campus Ministry</li>
		<li>Proposes a pool of retreat directors and retreat guides/staffers</li>
		<li>Conducts or facilitates prayer sessions, recollections and retreats, and other Spiritual formation programs in the assigned Schools as well as in other sectors of the APS community as needed</li>
		<li>Coordinates with the assigned Schools the schedules of the spiritual formation programs and consults them regarding 
		their other spiritual formation needs</li>
		<li>Initiates and organizes seasonal prayer services in consultation with the APS Chaplain &amp; CMO Director
		<ul>
			<li>May/October Rosary Prayer</li>
			<li>Lenten Way of the Cross</li>
			<li>Novenas</li>
			<li>Holy Hour</li>
			<li>Others</li>
		</ul>
		</li>
	</ul>
	</li>
	<li>Spritiual Accompaniment
	<ul>
		<li>Conducts spiritual accompaniment sessions for students under the supervision of the APS Chaplain &amp; CMO Director</li>
	</ul>
	</li>
	<li>Pastoral Counseling 
	<ul>
		<li>Conducts psychological first aid only and refers members of the APS community to the Office of the AVP for Health, Care and Well-being for referrals or to other proper agencies</li>
	</ul>
	</li>
	<li>Acts as spiritual adviser/moderator/formation to campus ministry volunteers organization</li>
	<li>Performs other duties as may be required by the position</li>
