Quezon City is a vast and teeming city with a steadily increasing income and occupation of one-third of Metro Manila’s total land area. It now serves as the Philippines’ government center with the legislature and other important government offices located in its area. All of these are reminiscent of the same noble dream that brought forth the creation of the City.

Quezon City is situated on the northeast portion of Metro Manila. It is bounded on the north by Caloocan City and San Jose del Monte City in Bulacan Province, on the east by San Mateo and Marikina, on the south by Pasig and Mandaluyong, San Juan and Manila, and on the west by Valenzuela, Caloocan, and Manila. Its northeastern and eastern boundaries are defined by the Novaliches Watershed and the Marikina River. With an area of 16,112.58 hectares (based on 1995 GIS graphical plot), it is the largest among the sixteen (16) cities and one (1) municipality in the region and is almost one-fourth the size of Metro Manila.

Learn and experience the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures as passionate government public servants.

Quezon City Internship Program

<ul>
	<li>Assists readers in their research needs.</li>
	<li>Performs circulation and services desk duties.</li>
	<li>Takes charge in the use of an automated system to check out and check in library materials.</li>
	<li>Assists patrons with reader’s advisory requests; furnish information about books, authors and publishers.</li>
	<li>Maintains all cards filled in the required sequence; arrange them alphabetically or in numerical sequence by property index numbers or by tax declaration numbers.</li>

Librarian II

<ul>
	<li>Maintains currents records of materials bound.</li>
	<li>Compiles statistics of binding and preserved materials of the sections from which the materials were received.</li>
	<li>Assists in sorting, carrying and delivering of books to concerned sections/staff/ branch.</li>
	<li>Does other related duties and assigned by the supervisors.</li>

Administrative Aide IV Bookbinder II

<ul>
	<li>Manages the Section, supervises the staff and ensures proper discharge of their duties.</li>
	<li>Designs and conducts instructional sessions on how to use electronic journals and databases and ensures that newer electronic formats are available and easy to access for library patrons.</li>
	<li>Conceptualizes plans, programs and projects of the Section and ensures that they are properly implemented.</li>
	<li>Participates and makes recommendations in the selection of print and non- print resources.</li>

Librarian III

	<li>Organize the book and other reading materials to be placed/ displayed at the bookmobiles.</li>
	<li>Determines and schedules services routes of BM.</li>
	<li>Assists library patrons using the book mobile.</li>
	<li>Coordinates in the selection of the outreach collections.</li>
	<li>Maintains files and other records of the Section.</li>
</ul>

Librarian I

<ul>
	<li>Assists and orients clients in the use of the computers.</li>
	<li>Monitors the use of the computers and ensures that time limits are strictly followed.</li>
	<li>Clear equipment at end of operation run.</li>
	<li>Records information such as computer operating time, problems that occurred and action taken for the submission.</li>
	<li>Updates pictures that pertain to library’s activities and provides copies to be included in the official newsletter of QCPL and to other division and section and does other related duties.</li>

Administrative Assistant III (Computer Operator II)

<ul>
	<li>Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office.</li>
	<li>Carry out administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning etc.</li>
	<li>Exhibit polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail.</li>
	<li>Prepares and distributes reports or other communications on a regular schedule,.Maintains files, databases, and archives of relevant records.</li>

Administrative Assistant II

<ul>
	<li>Prepare list of book and equipment for distribution.</li>
	<li>Assist in inventory of books and other materials.</li>
	<li>Assist in the preparation of Library user's files statistics for monthly reports.</li>
	<li>Facilitates basic computer tutorial.</li>
	<li>Does other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.</li>

Library Assistant (Contract of Service)

<ul>
	<li>Assists the library users in borrowing of books, research materials and e-government services. </li>
	<li>Drives the government vehicles for transporting/delivery of maintenance manpower and books for the branch libraries.</li>
	<li>Types/ Encodes official communication/ correspondence.</li>
	<li>Contributions in maintaining the library services and program efficiency.</li>
	<li>Does other related task/duties assigned by the Immediate Supervisor.</li>
</ul>

Administrative Support Aide (Contract of Service)

<ul>
	<li>Assist in the installation, configuring and testing of software, hardware and computer networks and application systems.</li>
	<li>Maintain computer networks and solving problems that may occur with them.</li>
	<li>Responsible for the daily upkeep, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems.</li>
	<li>Ensure that database are properly secured, backed up and recovered quickly.</li>
	<li>Monitor system performance and troubleshooting issues.</li>

	<li>Encode/type communications, inventory records and other documents pertaining to District Library.</li>

	<li>Reviews, formulates, recommends and implements guidelines, policies and strategies for Recruitment, Selection and Placement.</li>
	<li>Critical and Analytical Thinking – Able to interpret, link, and process information in order to understand issues and identify alternative solutions.</li>
	<li>Information/Data/Records Management - Able to organize, maintain, retrieve and ensure the proper use and disposition of record and office documents.</li>
	<li>Performs other related human resource functions.</li>

3. Interpret data, analyze using statistics, and create ongoing reports, presenting findings visually to Policy Research, Program Development, and Planning Division. 
4. Collaborate with Policy Research, Program Development, and Planning Division to prioritize business needs, coordinate data requirements, and utilize various research methods for analysis.
