OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
This role has multiple facets. You will work alongside the sales team in Jakarta to work on new business pitches; delivering a level of audience insight and strategic thinking to the responses; and working together with the creative team in generating and shaping ideas in response to briefs. You’ll also develop our research and audience insights ‘products’ as a business, including audience survey and further millennial research projects, working with VICE’s Global Head of Insights.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing strategic insights to support VICE responses to client briefs, from both VICE’s consumer audience and global best-practice research.
- Drawing on Neilsen audience insights and being the company’s go-to resource for audience data from this as a primary source.
- Working with the creative team to help shape creative concepts and responses to briefs.
- Work alongside the Head of Content to develop proposals and documents to commercialise VICE’s existing content franchises and business opportunities.
- Develop and interpret the annual VICE audience survey in partnership with VICE’s global team.
- Be the go-to resource for any research projects commissioned by brands of VICE.
- Develop research ‘products’ to take to market and commercialise, further positioning VICE as the leading expert in millennial marketing in Australia.
- The Strategic Planner will report in to and locally to Alex Light and Michael Slonim (VICE Australia).
- The role is based in the VICE Sydney office.

A demonstrated ability to think out of the box and provide fresh solutions to business issues, as well as the analytical capability and objectivity to develop evidence-based conclusions

A strong ability in conducting research, and quickly analyzing the data and reporting the results
- 2 - 5 years of experience spanning design, advertising agency, and branded entertainment.
- 4+ years experience in strategy / planning
- Apple Keynote knowledge and experience.
- Deep knowledge and interest in digital, social media, content, and technology.
- Passion, positivity, diligence, self-motivation, ability to work in modular teams and as an individual.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
- English speaker – fluent in reading and writing (Bahasa fluent also recommended - please specify language skills).
- Familiarity and enthusiasm for the VICE brand, its creative mission and output.
