Hyperion Consultant- Essbase Developer  

Role Description

• Seeking a Senior Developer in Hyperion Essbase applications to assist in the maintenance of existing applications.
• The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for general oversight and day-to-day support activities as well as back-end processes, system maintenance, metadata changes and general administration of the application.
• There may be the opportunity to be involved with development projects.
• Possess strong attention to detail, be conscientious and self-motivated, possess excellent organizational skills, and deliver quality end results.Possess the drive to make project deadlines.

Principal responsibilities

• Translate the architectural vision of the application into working code and suggest improvement
• Own and complete Essbase service requests (enhancements, break/fix, changes, troubleshooting)
• Migrate applications between multiple environments
• Implement partitioning between applications
• Run Essbase ad-hoc reports
• Manage User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions and write UAT scripts
• Maintain security and integrity of data

• Intermediate/advanced skills in Essbasedevelopment (ASO, BSO, MDX, MaxL, Calc scripts, Performance Tuning, troubleshooting)
• Intermediate/advanced skills in Metadata /Outline management
• Intermediate/advanced skills in Essbase Security management
• Intermediate skills in Reporting - Hyperion SmartView, Web Analysis, Financial Reporting
• Experience working with complex cost allocation systems
• Experience creatingEssbase applications from scratch
• Experience in designing, building, optimizing, integrating, and automating Essbase ASO, Essbase BSO, and Planning applications
• Experience creating calculations, forms, menus, and task lists
• Solid knowledge in accounting (Planning, Budget, Forecast & Actuals)
• Utilise best practices in application, web form, calculation, and report design
• Desirable knowledge functionality of Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Financial Data Quality Management Enterprise Edition (FDMEE), EPM Automate, and other ETL tools
• Desirable knowledge on how to implement process management
• Desirable to possess an understanding of the application backup process
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with all involved in your assigned projects
• Be comfortable working with customers, managers, and other team members
• Be able to work as part of a virtual team, where team members can work all over the world
• Possess a bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Financial Systems
• Minimum of 5 years direct experience with Essbase
