IT Developer | Programmer  

Job Objective

Responsible for the development and maintenance of computer programs with end view of improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the Company’s day-to-day operations and simplifying work processes given the Company objectives and resources.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Handles the Development & Implementation of Computer-based Systems:

• Conducts coding of program. This involves gathering of data and system investigation based on the specifications/requirements needed by the users.
• Performs data conversion of master files, if necessary, to serve as a historical reference of old data. This is usually done when an old system was changed to a new one
• Performs unit and system testing for quality control and assurance purposes.
• Conducts training of users in order to familiarize them to the newly implemented system/program.
• Prepares the program documentation or manualization to serve as a reference for the existing and newly trained users.
• Provides post-implementation support and works on system maintenance and enhancement to check for additional modules and/or requirements from the users for further enhancement of the program/system

2. Provides Assistance to the Immediate Supervisor:

• Assists the immediate supervisor in system development and implementation tasks which includes:
• Reports, screens and files lay-out
• Performs system testing and parallel run to ensure the quality of the system by checking the results of the new program as against the old one.
• Prepares the system documentation or manualization to serve as reference for the existing and newly trained users.
• Responsible for the system control and security to ensure confidentiality of data by providing user IDs to the authorized users of the program
• Reports status of project and other related issues to the immediate superior.

3. Others

• Supervises the file conversion handled by the end-users to ensure physical security and data integrity, if necessary.
• Coordinates with the computer users on software-related matter and performs minor troubleshooting when necessary.
• Attends seminars and training programs related to the job.
• Performs other functions that may be assigned by superiors from time to time.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Engineering/ Management or related fields in the sciences.
• At least 2 years experience in related software development and programming;
• At least 1 year of experience in System Analysis and Design work.
• Must be knowledgeable on Client/ Server database methodologies, MS SQL, Oracle or DB2.
• Must be knowledgeable in handling Windows Server & ERP System
• Must be knowledgeable in financial accounting concepts, retail operation, trading and distribution.
• Can easily relate with end-users, Management and technical people.
• Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be assertive, confident and dynamic.
