Tax Analyst  

The position acts as primary preparer and analyst of tax returns and attachments and the related tax computations, and supporting schedules, as applicable; and as primary point person for tax and other BIR concerns of Head Office and of all stores of the assigned business units

• Primarily responsible for the preparation of the assigned business units’ tax returns and timely submission for review and eventual filing with the BIR (Quarterly and Annual Income Tax, Quarterly VAT, Monthly Documentary Stamps Tax);
• Review and eventual filing of the assigned business units’ Withholding Tax Returns (Expanded, Final, Compensation);
• Preparation and/or review of the attachments to the tax returns, as applicable, and submission of the same (includes but not limited to related summary lists, alphalists, 2307 certificates, 2306 certificates, etc);
• Assistance in the preparation and/or review of eSales Reports relative to the POS machines of the stores of the assigned business units and assistance in transitioning to the BIR Electronic Invoicing System;
• Assistance in new registration or update of registration of Head Office and stores/branches of assigned business units;
• Assistance in renewal of various BIR permits (primarily includes but not limited to Authority to Print, Permit to Use POS Machines, CAS permit, etc);
• Assistance in preparation of books of accounts for mandatory submission;
• Collation of documents and preparation of self-assessment and/or supporting, reconciliation, and other schedules, as needed, for BIR Audits;
• Assistance in test of transactions to determine correct applicable tax treatment in the system;
• Assistance in resolving any tax and/or BIR issues as escalated from other Departments and from stores of the assigned business units;
• Preparation of replies and the related necessary documents and/or supporting schedules to various BIR notices other than BIR audits (e.g. Tax Mapping violation notices, Notice of Non-filings or Non-submissions, etc.);
• Assistance in other tax projects and ad hoc activities, as necessary.

• At least 2 years of work experience, most preferably from tax service line (compliance or reporting) of audit firms;
• Preferred experience in retail operations, but not required;
• Knowledge of BIR reporting and application requirements (priority on BIR);
• Graduate of B.S. Accountancy; Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required (with at least a concrete planned timetable for taking the licensure exam);
• Detail-oriented, organized, with good oral and written business communication skills to communicate across different levels of the organization;
• Proficient in Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, Sharepoint; SAP user experience preferred but not required.
