Primarily responsible for the overall management of the accounting department by developing and implementing accounting systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information while managing accounting personnel in accordance with the company policies and procedures
A. ACCOUNTING STRATEGY MANAGEMENT AND ENHANCEMENT
- Plans and evaluates the overall accounting management of the Company operations;
- Directs and provides competent advice on the development and enhancement of accounting information systems and financial policies to ensure the accuracy, completeness, integrity, and timeliness of financial data;
- Oversees financial planning, accounting, collection, and disbursements, and ensures the adequacy of and compliance with internal controls and external stakeholders.
B. ACCOUNTING TRANSACTIONS MANAGEMENT
- Checks the accuracy and reliability of accounting reports and correctly classified according to the chart of accounts;
- Determines the value of current assets and current liabilities, including inventories, receivables, prepayments, payables, and accruals; and
- Determines the acquisition, disposal and value of non-current assets (i.e. long term assets), including property plant and equipment; defining policies on allowable reclassification of non-current assets (nature, amount and reason of reclassification).
C. ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE MANAGEMENT
- Sets objectives for the accounts receivable team in accordance with the accounting department’s goals; and
- Reviews, approves, and evaluates the effectiveness of invoicing procedures by overseeing collection and accounts receivable operations.
D. ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGEMENT
- Ensures timely and accurate reconciliation of accounting control statements by overseeing bank reconciliations, control accounts, revenue reconciliations, advances, and deposits.
- Reviews the value of budget appropriations, allotments, obligations, revenues, and expenditures, and report promptly if budget execution decisions are infringing the control rules.
E. INTERNAL CONTROL
- Meets accounting financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions;
- Maintains accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts, defining accounting policies and procedures;
- Guides other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues;
- Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls; and
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
F. REPORTORIAL COMPLIANCE
- Complies and submits all required documents/ reports within the prescribed timeframe.

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
- Five to ten (5-10) years relevant experience
- License is required.
