DevOps Engineer  

Objectives:

As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a strategic role in scaling our infrastructure, streamlining our development process, and ensuring the reliability and security of our applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate, optimize, and innovate our systems to support our growth objectives.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for deployment, monitoring, and orchestration of our complex software environment.
• Develop automation tools to efficiently deploy and manage cloud infrastructure across multiple regions and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ensure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats by implementing industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with the development and QA teams to understand architectural and operational requirements, ensuring systems are designed for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Conduct post-mortem incident reviews and implement preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Stay current with new technology options and vendor products, recommending changes and upgrades as appropriate.
• Act as a mentor to junior DevOps team members, providing guidance and support in their professional development.

Candidate has:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Ruby) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
• Strong experience with Docker and Kubernetes, including lifecycle management and scaling.
• Deep understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their respective management tools.
• Solid experience in network, server, and application-status monitoring.
• A strong command of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, CircleCI, GitLab CI).
• Familiarity with cybersecurity strategies and compliance requirements.

Ideal Technical Skills:

• Source Code Management: Proficiency with Git for version control.
• Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, Travis CI.
• Containerization and Orchestration:
  • Knowledge of Docker for containerization.
  • Proficiency with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
• Cloud Platforms:
  • Proficiency in a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of cloud services and deployment models.
• Monitoring and Logging:
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Proficiency in logging tools like ELK Stack.
• Scripting and Automation:
  • Strong scripting skills in Bash, Python, or Ruby.
  • Automation of repetitive tasks and processes.
• Security:
  • Integration of security practices into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Awareness of security best practices.
• Networking:
  • Understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
  • Troubleshooting network-related issues.
• Database Management: Knowledge of database systems and management (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Versioning and Release Management: Understanding of versioning principles and release management.
