- Monitoring of core network infrastructure (routers, switches and inter-datacentre fibre links) to ensure sufficient capacity and operational status
- Monitoring for denial of service attacks, working with our security partners and informing customers
- Monitoring the integrity and efficacy of customer backups
- Triage customer enquiries in order of importance and priority
- Answer customer support enquiries via chat, email and telephone
- Knowledge management, including the maintenance of network and asset databases, datacentre management systems and IP management systems
- Liaising with carrier partners, peers’ NOCs, etc, to debug issues
- Liaising with datacentre partners to create trouble tickets, remote hands requests and access requests
- Performing ad-hoc maintenance tasks on customers’ services, including performing updates, configuring backups, installing software (eg LAMP)
- Managing internal systems (eg our applications and databases, ElasticSearch clusters, VMWare virtualisation, public operating system mirrors)
- Other ad-hoc tasks as directed by Management
Trình độ tối thiểu
- Knowledge of Linux server administration and commandline – CentOS, Ubuntu, Debian, etc.
- Knowledge of Windows server administration – 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019, etc.
- Knowledge of virtualisation platforms, such as VMWare, Hyper-V and KVM.
- Knowledge of common server software, such as LAMP and cPanel.
- Basic networking knowledge – troubleshooting connectivity issues with ping, traceroute, MTR, etc.
- Basic knowledge of server hardware and remote management protocols, such as Supermicro IPMI, Dell iDRAC or HP iLO.
- Familiarity with server provisioning, such as mounting ISOs, installing operating systems and configuring RAID.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for communication with customers via telephone, chat and tickets.
- Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Knowledge of OnApp, BGP and OSPF technologies are a plus.
