The Accounting Clerk performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in an accounting department including the following:
- Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
- Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers, and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
- Reconciling bank statements by comparing statements with general ledger.
- Maintaining accounting databases by:
- Entering data into the computer.
- Processing backups.
- Compiling data and preparing a variety of reports.
- Reconciling records with internal company employees and management or external vendors/customers.
- Recommending actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Investigating questionable data.
Trình độ tối thiểu
- Competency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Organizational skills.
- Communication skills, both oral and written.
- Attention to detail and ability to multitask is an asset.
