Accounts Payable Officer | Ortigas  

The position gathers and evaluates supporting documents to ascertain validity of business expenses. He/She should be able to set work priorities to ensure prompt and timely payment and optimise offered prompt or early payment discounts offered, if any. Corollary to this function is the preparation and submission of all required files to our outsourced Accounting Firm for mandatory government filings such as returns and compliance reports.

The position is a ‘shared service’ function for all companies of the Group.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive invoices from vendors/authorised representatives within the Company.
• Gather and sort documents to adequately support the disbursements. Documents should prove that the disbursements are valid and legal business expenses.
• Check and/or review invoices, requisitions and other documents for processing. Ensure mathematical accuracy of data inputs.
• Ensure all offered discounts are claimed.
• Encode all required documents for data input.
• Ensure that checks are released based on authorised schedule.
• Process vendor master file changes.
• Report significant issues to supervisor/management.
• Maintain an orderly accounting and filing system.
• Prepare various account schedules to support balances in the financial statements.
• Prepare mandatory government reports/returns, such as but not limited to:
  • Monthly and Quarterly Expanded Withholding Tax Returns.
  • Monthly and Quarterly Value Added Tax Returns.
  • Assist in the submission of the above reports to governing regulatory agencies.
• Answer inquiries regarding work performed.
• Perform other tasks that may be assigned or requested by management from time to time.

• Candidate must be a Certified Public Accountant.
• 1 year clerical or accounting related experience in a auditing firm set up.
• Knowledge of tax practices.
• Preference will be given to candidates with working knowledge of an accounting software package.
• Strong analytical and planning skills.
