General Accountant  

This role sits within the finance function of Columbus Capital. The Accountant will handle the day-to-day operational functions of Manila Office and provide support to Finance team of Sydney office.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and
procedures
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls
• Prepare / process the following:
- Book of Accounts
- Monthly Financial Statement
- Journals, Month End report and Balance Sheet
- Governmental reportorials and lodgements (BIR, SSS, PHIC, HDMF)
- Sales Invoices
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements
• Oversee payroll including the Annualized Withholding Tax
• Prepare internal regular Financial report/s to Management detailing overall financial position of the Business
• Responsible for the compliance with annual audit requirements by preparation of year-end Financial Statements supported by Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss schedules
• Responsible for the filing of Audited Financial Statement to SEC
• Timely completions of work in accordance with the reporting timetables
• Action other tasks or duties due to business exigencies or as deemed necessary by Management to achieve business goals

• A graduate of Accountancy, Financial Accounting or any related course
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is an advantage
• With knowledge on accounting for a Philippine Branch office or similar nature of business is an advantage
• With Xero and Microsoft Business Central - Wiise Accounting software experience is a plus
• With significant working experience in general accounting
• Well-versed in all facets of Accounting
• Ability to cope with change
