The purpose/objective of a Sales and Marketing Officer is to accomplish business development activities by researching and developing marketing opportunities and plans; implementing sales plans in coordination with the Managing Director’s key objectives and the company’s outstanding strategic vision and negotiating skills with a sound knowledge and understanding of the promotion of Auskills at both current and new partners and customers.
Sales and Marketing
- Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by working closely with the Recruitment Consultants
- Identifies marketing opportunities by defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses
- Manage the sales administration function, operational performance reporting, streamlining processes and systems wherever possible, and advising Director on maximising business relationships and creating an environment where customer service can flourish.
- Responsible for developing a business plan covering sales, revenue, and expense controls, meeting agreed targets, and promoting Auskills’ presence throughout Australia.
- Assist in the development of the annual marketing plan, specifically advising on: realistic forecast (based on historical data, market trends, competitive activity, promotional strategy and sales effort), realistic operational costs; and sales promotion program plans.
- Meets marketing and sales financial objectives by:
- Forecasting requirements
- Preparing an annual budget
- Scheduling expenditures
- Analysing variances o Initiating corrective actions.
- Determines annual and gross-profit plans by:
- Forecasting and developing annual sales quotas
- Projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new services
- Analysing trends and results
- Establishing pricing strategies
- Recommending selling prices o Monitoring costs, competition, supply, and demand.
- Accomplishes marketing and sales objectives by planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating advertising and promotional programs
- Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Ensure that the company targets are met and exceeded
Business Development
- Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organisation.
- Research and build relationships with new clients
- Set up meetings between client decision makers to introduce Auskills services
- In collaboration with the Marketing arm, develop and create slides and marketing collaterals for client presentation
- Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
- Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
- Convert prospects into clients.
- Ensure that new clients understand the Bridging Program, Student Program and RPL
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends to the team.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and various channels that will lead to an increase in revenue.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique Auskills’ selling propositions and differentiators.
- Organise events to beef up existing pool of candidates in In coordination with reputable agencies and educational institutions
- Facilitate individual or group discussion during career fairs
- Strengthen market potential of candidates by building applicant sources through partnership with educational institutions and agencies
- Keep abreast with different visa types and conditions in Australia
- Pro-actively scans the labour market on a global scope with focus on Asian and european Market to tap potential candidates through internet research
- Pro-actively scans the labour market within Australia to tap potential candidates through different sourcing strategies
- Prepare ad hoc recruitment reports
- Provide analytical and well documented reports to the rest of the team
Communication and Working Relationships
- Achieving and maintaining high standards of service delivery at all times
- Provide satisfactory and timely responses to all correspondences and other enquiries
- Receives inbound calls regarding various Auskills’ services
- Liaises with co-employees and external contacts
- Handles day-to-day internal and external transactions
- Promote company’s reputation as “best place to work”
- Attend industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market trends to the team.
- Prepare standard and ad hoc reports and provide commentary or recommendation for action as appropriate
Supervisory Roles
- Supervise directly the Sales and Marketing Associates (SMA) and Admin Specialists (AS)
- Ensure that the SMA and AS follows the organisation's policies and procedures
- Regularly review the needs of the SMA and AS that will enable him or her to work efficiently
- Develop the training plan to ensure that the SMA and AS have the necessary expertise to carry out their jobs.
- Provide ongoing guidance to the SMA and AS, often in the forms of ongoing coaching and counselling SMA and AS
- Set performance standards for tasks, jobs and roles of the SMA and AS.
- Ensure that the SMA and AS have appropriate and realistic goals.
- Provide ongoing feedback about the employee's performance.
- Conduct performance appraisals on a regular basis, including assessing how the employee has performed and what they can do to improve in his or her job.
- Develop performance improvement plans if the SMA and AS’s performance is not adequate.

At least three (3) years’ experience in the same role, in a small to medium-sized company from any industry
