Ruby on Rails Developer  

JOB SUMMARY:
This job includes coordinating efforts of cross-functional business and system development teams where scope of work encompasses multiple components of requirements gathering, input into design considerations, quality assurance, and production implementation.

Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions are:

• Updating, debugging, enhancing, and optimizing existing software and other applications.
• Transforming software designs and specifications into high functioning code in the appropriate language.
• Modifying existing software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware, or improving its performance.
• Working on bug fixing and improving application performance.
• Writing well designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Working as part of a team to deliver/support product or project requirements.
• Continuously improving system knowledge and development skills by attending in-house and external courses.

Core responsibilities:

• Designs, development, and administration of transactional and analytical data structures.
• Coding standards and peer reviews.
• Meeting tight deadlines and manages multiple projects.
• Scoping documents and technical specs.
• Client-facing responsibilities.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum of 3-4 years experience in C#, PHP, and C++
• Project management experience.
• Agile development methodology experience
• At least with work experience or knowledge in the following:
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • Ruby on Rails
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • Ajax
  • JQuery Subversion
• Excellent in any programming skills are required.
• Understanding of relational databases such as MSSQL and MySQL.
• Good core skills.
• Object orientated coding skills.
