Food Technologists execute Raw Material development activities to assist Technical Sales Representatives with the marketing aspect of selling. They also hand regulatory functions and execute tasks to maintain the high quality of materials being sold.
Food Techs are also responsible for exploring new clients and sales opportunities through their product developments. The objective of product development and technical assistance is to generate sales at the very least, maximise market penetration in general, and ultimately establish RMD as the best source of fine chemicals & raw materials for the Food Industry. This position may therefore be considered as a proving ground for potential full-time Sales Representatives, should that career path be desired.
Marketing
- Orients the Food Product Portfolio to Sales Representatives handling food clients and assists in the orientation of these products to other RMD personnel when required.
- Attends to client’s inquiries pertaining to client’s laboratory testing, and ensures proper testing related to RMD’s submitted sample.
- Assists Supervisors/Managers on the preparation of product presentations, marketing portfolios & peripherals, and other relevant product marketing activities & preparations.
- Updates the Company on the latest market information and provides beneficial & relevant surveys (on products, industries or clients) resulting to the development of more effective strategies to increase/improve RMD’s supplier/product/service portfolio thus resulting to sales productivity & profitability.
- Conducts and/or assists in the search of new suppliers where existing suppliers are unable to provide specified products, competitive prices, or parameters set by clients.
- Visits clients, to monitor and service all needs of each client (either for own-assigned accounts or in coordination with the salesperson in charge – where applicable), and thereby create and contribute to more sales
- Follows up on pending quotes and verifies the causes of delay in ordering.
- Submits proforma invoice & other pertinent documents to clients.
- Safeguards payments, either via L/C (or) draft, for indent sales.
- Prepares itinerary plans for the week & sales reports, which are to be discussed with the manager every Monday, and/or another day, when needed.
- Assists in appointment setting and finalisation of visiting schedules of foreign suppliers.
- Accompanies appointment visits of foreign suppliers to clients.
Regulatory
- Prepares samples for clients according to GMP standards.
- Responsible for all Samples of Food Raw Materials, their packing, storage, shelf life, and inventory.
- Handles all regulatory requirements RMD Food Portfolio.
- Handles all Audit compliance requirements of RMD.
- Assists regulatory personnel (usually Pharmacists) with all government compliance requirements needed by RMD.
- Inspects incoming shipments of Food Ingredients during arrival and submits a detailed “Incoming Shipment Report”, including all anomalies or deficiencies in the shipment and/or product, and alert all concerned parties if such a condition is present in the shipment, within 24 hours of arrival at Warehouse.
- Communicates with suppliers (foreign or domestic) on technical issues & resolving all issues concerning quality claims, shipment anomalies and product defects and negotiate a favourable solution to RMD & its clients..
- Monitors status/development/test results of samples submitted to clients to ensure sample approval resulting to client’s order, and closely coordinate with Supervisor/Manager on any relevant development on the market, client, competition, and supplier side
Trình độ tối thiểu
- Graduate of Food Technology, Nutrition, or similar course;
- High proficiency in both written and oral English;
- Team worker, solutions-driven, customer-oriented; maintain good working relationship with other employees.
- Meticulous, energetic, systematic, self-driven, and able to work with minimum supervision;
- Facility to report to superiors without prodding;
- With a strong inclination towards sales and client contact;
- Computer literate in Windows environment;
- Capability/potential for acquiring higher responsibilities
