Medical Technologist | Chapters  

Tasks include but are not limited to:

• Performs various laboratory examinations on collected blood as mandated by the Department of Health on all blood units for transfusion.
• Prepares blood component.
• Carries out proper storage and issuance of blood and blood components.
• Performs serological tests for out-patients and PRC staff.
• Performs the function of phlebotomist or receptionist whenever necessary.
• Keeps accurate records and provides reports on laboratory.
• Helps in the maintenance of sanitation and upkeep of equipments and facilities, proper disinfection, and disposal of laboratory wastes.
• Supervises and trains medical technologist interns, trainees, and volunteers in the laboratory.
• Measures and monitors performance of equipment and reagents, in line with quality assurance.
• Ensures that the laboratory licenses are up to date.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by superiors.

• At least a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
• Medical Technologist license holder.
• Preferrably with a minimum of one year work-related experience.
