Production Manager  

Responsible in the attainment of operational objectives in the slaughter of animals and production of fresh meat products.Implements plans, strategies, policies and procedures at the production areas and coordinates them with concerned personnel or department. Formulates production efficiency objectives and strategies to attain them. Initiates system and facility improvements to enhance safety, quality and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages slaughterhouse and meat cutting operations;
• Implements, reviews and controls production schedule in close coordination with Sales and other departments;
• Optimizes value of products through observance of proper procedures and adherence to quality standards and specifications;
• Sets up and reviews the attainment of key performance indicators in key result areas;
• Plans the efficient use of material, human, and other resources to attain company objectives;
• Assists, guides, and motivates plant employees for them to perform their best, adhere to company rules, regulations and standards, advance the positive image and good name of the company, and work as a team to achieve best results;
• Ensures proper and complete documentation of all aspects of meat production;
• Keeps equipment safe, clean, and in good working order and notifies responsible people on needed repairs;
• Develops, reviews and implements the company’s operating systems and policies in accordance with good manufacturing practices and HACCP procedures;
• Continuously improves performance based on key performance indicators;
• cooperation with Sales, Quality and Logistics teams;
• Works with the Purchasing Department to establish quality requirements from external suppliers;
• Ensures compliance with government standards and legislations;
• Applies environmental, health and safety standards in the workplace;
• Identifies training needs in the Production Department and helps in the delivery of such training;
• Maintains awareness of the business context and company profitability, including budgetary control issues;
• Helps in the design and improvement of production facilities and systems;
• Promotes harmony and productivity among co-workers and inspires them to live the Gung Ho! life; and
• Performs other tasks as may be assigned from time to time.v

Education:

At least a college degree in food technology, veterinary medicine, meat science, industrial engineering or related course

Experience:

• At least five years work experience in food processing, preferably in meat processing
• With at least basic knowledge in meat production and inventory management
• Has experience in supervising at least ten people for at least six months.
