Legal Manager  

Reporting to the Senior Legal Manager of GOJEK HQ based in Jakarta, the Legal Manager provides and manages legal support for Food and Commerce department. The Legal Manager has main responsibility for:

• Supervising two Junior Legal Manager.
• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a various range of contract within the Food and Commerce department. Using contracts to define and strengthen relationship with key partners, and manage legal and business risk in appropriate manner.
• Advising on the legal and regulatory risk for newly and updated business structure and implementation of upcoming products and ensuring the solutions are legally and commercially acceptable under challenging Indonesian regulatory environment.
• Providing day-to-day legal support for cross-functional department, including support associated with business process improvement, operational matters, and international expansion of the products.
• Working closely, and coordinating with internal and external legal counsel appointed by Gojek Group accross different jurisdictions (Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam Team) as required.
• Giving continued support on the creation, standardisation and implementation of Gojek Group legal compliance, policies, terms & conditions, internal working procedures and standard operational guidelines.

The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor of Law from a reputable law school in Indonesia.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in private practice at top-tier law firms, or minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience as in-house legal of multinational companies.
• Significant experience in drafting, and negotiating legal documents both in English and Indonesian, and acting as the leading counsel for corporate transaction is preferred.
• Strong legal knowledge for corporate law, contract drafting and analytical interpretation of business structure (both technical and operational aspects).
• Highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Ability to adapt, and willingness to work in fast-paced team environment.
• Excellent communication and social competence skills.
• Strong interest in FinTech industry.
