Construction Division Accountant  

CONSTRUCTION DIVISION AND PROJECT ACCOUNTING RESPONSBILITIES

• Be responsible for the accounting operations of the construction projects and construction division of the company.
• Communicate routinely with Project Managers and others on a variety of project-related topics including project costs, billings, invoices, retainages, profits, and losses.
• Participate in theformation, implementation, andoversight/reporting of construction project budgets, forecasts, and project/division/company financial plans.
• Prepare all weekly and monthly accounting and financial reports for construction projects and construction division.
• Provide reporting and budgeting analysis asrequired by Senior Management.
• Manage construction division and constructionproject cash flow.
• Supervise constructionaccounts payable and accountsreceivable staff and functions.
• Work with project management staff ensuring proper compliance with construction contract accounting and invoicing procedures including reviewing and analyzing job cost estimates and reports monthly.
• Develop written accounting procedures for the construction operations staff and work with team to ensure proper implementation and compliance.

STRATEGIC INITIATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create and implement new accounting/operations procedures to prepare and manage rapidly growing construction operations and the required business structure.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key partners including banks, insurance companies, sureties, etc. that will support and grow the business.
• Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Must be a strong, experienced, and organized leader with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also required. Specific requirements include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• Very strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
• 5 to 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3 to 5 years on Construction Management or General Contracting or Subcontractor industry experience.
• Extensive experience in construction job cost accounting and financial reporting.
• Extensive experience with QuickBooks for Contractor of QuickBooks Online.
• Clear, professional, and concise written and verbal reporting skills in English.
• Strong skills in MS Office suite such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
• Understanding of commercial insurance policies required.
• Ability to create, present, and explain data in charts and graphs.
