Procurement Specialist  

Under the guidance of the Procurement Manager, Procurement Specialist is part of the team who is responsible for ensuring that the supply chain needs of the company are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. The position requires the following tasks: negotiate, review costs, develop relationships with vendors and suppliers, and offer suggestions for where and how much material and supplies to buy.

Accountabilities:

• Improve sourcing approaches for frequently used indirect materials to simplify the procurement process and/or reduce cost.
• Organize the execution of purchasing functions like inquiries, negotiations and other placements to optimize time utilization.
• Maintain constant communication with suppliers on the latest trend both local and imported, including supply situation and prices.
• Handle bidding procedure for high value requirements/projects and ensure that projects are properly documented.
• Continuously improve procurement practices on materials purchased.
• Institute measures to safeguard the company’s interest when dealing with suppliers and imposing penalty clauses.
• Performs any other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

• Candidate must be a graduate of BS Industrial Engineering from a reputable university;
• With at least 3-4 years related working experience in procurement role. Working experience in FMCG is an advantage;
• With proficient MS Excel working knowledge required. Knowledge in computer automated system is an advantage;
• Above average verbal and written English communication skills;
• Flexible, able to work on own initiative, strong team player; effective and efficient interpersonal skills; highly motivated and driven to succeed.
